About the Role
The Sport & Community Venues branch delivers and enhances diverse, high-quality community facilities that strengthen social connection, support economic vitality, and promote community wellbeing.
This role supports the delivery of high-quality events and community experiences at Venue 114 and other Council-owned venues.
As a Venue Officer, you’ll coordinate and deliver a diverse range of events—from school formals and dance concerts to community workshops and business meetings. You’ll ensure seamless event execution, maintain venue equipment, and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Key duties:
- Coordinate and deliver a range of community and business events, ensuring smooth operations and memorable experiences.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and team members to manage event logistics, maintain WH&S compliance, and uphold venue standards.
- Utilise the Momentus booking system for planning, reporting, and financial reconciliation to support efficient and accurate event delivery.
About you
You’re experienced in event coordination or venue operations, with a Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent. You’ve delivered events hands-on and thrive in fast-paced, community-focused settings.
You bring strong time management, communication, and customer service skills. You’re confident using booking systems and software, and work well both independently and in a team.
You will possess a current “C” Class Driver’s Licence, First Aid Certification, and a valid Blue Card. Physical fitness and flexibility for evening and weekend work are essential.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
Criminal History Check Required
Appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
