About the Role
The Urban Growth Projects Branch plays a critical role in shaping the future of the Sunshine Coast. The team leads structure planning and master planning for key greenfield growth areas and negotiates infrastructure outcomes that deliver long‑term benefits to the community. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Branch ensures infrastructure planning supports liveability, resilience, and sustainable development.
As a Senior Stormwater Engineer, you will provide technical expertise to support prioritisation and delivery of stormwater network upgrades across the region. This is an influential role where your investigations, modelling, and advice directly inform Council decision‑making. You will work on complex drainage challenges, contribute to resilient infrastructure outcomes and support sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning investigations and concept designs for stormwater network upgrades
- Deliver advanced drainage and hydraulic modelling
- Prepare clear, evidence‑based technical reports to guide investment decisions
- Provide expert technical support through design, construction, and on‑maintenance phases
About you
You hold a Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline recognised by the Engineers Australia.
You are a seasoned stormwater engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and delivering practical, innovative solutions that make a real community impact.
You bring strong expertise in drainage investigations and hydraulic modelling, including experience developing and running TUFLOW 2D models for network planning and flood assessment.
You communicate complex technical information clearly and confidently, producing high‑quality reports that support informed decision‑making by both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
You value professionalism and integrity, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment while ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and Council guidelines.
