**About the Role
**
Our Major Sport Facilities Sports Turf Team develop a diverse range of quality Regional & Community sport, events and recreations facilities that contribute to the social cohesion, economic viability and health and wellbeing of our community.
We are seeking a Senior Parks Site Officer to deliver a high standard of sports turf maintenance and field presentation across our Sunshine Coast Stadium, Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex and other venues within the Major Sports Facilities portfolio.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Supervise, lead, resource, educate, and motivate the Major Sport Facilities Sports Turf team.
- Provide assistance to the Sport Turf Curator to plan and organise the efficient, effective and timely delivery of the Sports precincts playing turf and surrounds maintenance services within approved budget and schedules.
- Lead horticulture, landscaping, arboriculture and Sports Turf management functions to meet operational plans and schedules, ensuring high quality and safe playing surfaces.
- Coordinate sports turf and horticulture projects, operational site activities, including on-the-job supervision, training, and completion of daily documentation.
- Participate in the development of a healthy and safe workplace, ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act, and Council procedure
**About you
**
As someone passionate about Sports Turf management, sport, events, who brings a high level of energy. You will posses a Certificate IV in Horticulture, Sports Turf Management or equivalent trade and have relevant experience in the turf management. A requirement of the position is to hold a Work Safely in the Construction Industry White Card.
You are a natural leader who can educate and motivate a high-performing and innovative team, you have demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, initiative and can complete tasks within set timeframes.
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
Candidates possessing the following will be highly regarded for the role:
- Ability to coordinate and manage staff, deliver high quaitly Sport Turf playing fields and operational outputs to support events in a busy multi sport and events precinct without direct supervisio
