About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to support the day-to-day operation of a non-hub library leading excellent customer experience to internal and external customers
This role will be including but not limited to:
- Roster, supervise and assist library staff (when required) in the provision of frontline services to library users to ensure quality control of circulation procedures and appropriate distribution of workloads.
- Take charge of non-hub library and supervision of staff as required, following established procedures, with support and advice available via phone as needed.
- Provide leadership to staff, participate in work team activities and contribute to relevant training, professional development and change management.
- Assist the Library Supervisor and other staff with the development and delivery of promotional, youth support, outreach and other programs as required to increase awareness of the library and its services to external and internal customers
About you
As a requirement of this role, you will:
- Possess Cert IV of Librarian and Information Science, or other related discipline or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a Library environment, customer service environment or other relevant experience.
- Have the ability to undertake regular weekend work (under any 5 in 7 arrangement) as required.
- Possess current current Blue Card and current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one.
- Demonstyrate strong communication and customer service skills with demonstrated ability to use initiative and sound judgement to guide employees, and resolve issues.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
