About the Branch

The Recreation Program Delivery Team is part of the Project Delivery Branch that plays a key role in delivering infrastructure and community outcomes that enhance the liveability and sustainability of the Sunshine Coast region. Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and government agencies, the branch is responsible for planning and delivering priority capital works projects that support Council's vision of being Australia's most sustainable region.

About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital works and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. This is an exciting opportunity to manage projects of varying complexity, influence strategic outcomes, collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, and contribute to projects that leave a lasting legacy for our growing region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of medium to large infrastructure and capital works projects through design and construction phases.
• Manage project planning, procurement, budgets, schedules, risks and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Prepare project management plans, monitor project performance and provide regular project status reporting.
• Develop consultancy and tender documentation, evaluate submissions and manage external service providers and contractors.

About You

• You are an experienced project management professional with tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Planning or a related discipline, backed by substantial experience delivering complex infrastructure projects.
• You thrive in fast-paced environments and can confidently manage multiple priorities, applying strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to achieve successful project outcomes.
• You are a natural communicator with exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and community representatives.
• You bring strong leadership capability, commercial awareness and financial management expertise, with the ability to guide project teams, manage resources and drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes.
