About the Role

The Arts, Heritage and Libraries Branch enriches the lives of residents and visitors through dynamic library services, cultural programs, and heritage initiatives. We’re passionate about fostering creativity, lifelong learning, and community engagement across the Sunshine Coast.

As a Library Officer, you’ll provide exceptional customer service and supporting a wide range of programs and resources. This role is perfect for someone who loves connecting people with knowledge and technology while contributing to a modern, vibrant library environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer experiences and assist with enquiries
  • Promote and deliver engaging library programs and events
  • Support staff and volunteers with systems and processes
  • Maintain library collections and ensure a fresh, modern presentation
  • Ability to work regular weekends (under an any 5 in 7 arrangement) as rostered, including early morning and evening work.

About you

  • You hold a Certificate III in Library and Information Services or similar qualification or professional experience.
  • You thrive on creating positive experiences and enjoy helping people access information and resources.
  • You’re confident with digital tools and eager to learn and teach new technologies.
  • You work well with others and bring a can-do attitude to achieving shared goals.
  • You manage tasks efficiently and take pride in maintaining a welcoming library environment.

Pre-Employment Medical Required?

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
