About the Role
The Civil Field Worker plays a vital hands-on role within the Construction Delivery Team of the Transport Network Operations branch. This team is responsible for maintaining and constructing essential infrastructure across the Sunshine Coast, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and public spaces.
In this role, you’ll contribute to the day-to-day delivery of civil maintenance and construction tasks, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You’ll work closely with a high-performing team to support the upkeep of community assets and help shape the region’s liveability and connectivity all over the coast depending on current project locations.
Key duties:
- Support team development by providing on-the-job coaching to trainees and new staff, fostering skill growth and consistent work standards.
- Deliver a variety of civil construction tasks including concreting, kerb and channel works, stormwater drainage, bridges earthworks and public spaces.
- Contribute to service improvement by identifying better ways to complete tasks, maintaining accurate documentation, and promoting a safe, high-performing team culture.
- Support the field leader and supervisor
- General labouring activities.
Based at the Beerwah Depot, you’ll be part of a collaborative and safety-focused environment, where continuous improvement and service excellence are key to success.
About you
You have a General Safety Induction (White/Blue Card) and a current C class driver’s licence. You’re physically fit and agile, capable of frequent heavy lifting and manual labour.
Ideally, you also hold a Certificate III in Civil Construction and an MR licence. Experience in steel fixing, form working, concreting and basic minor earthworks are desirable.
You’re a reliable team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills. You work safely, follow procedures, and contribute to a positive team culture.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
