About the Role

Sunshine Coast Council is seeking a qualified Independent Member to join its Audit Committee. This advisory committee provides strategic guidance on finance, governance, risk, compliance, and audit matters. The committee meets at least five times annually, with members receiving an annual fee. The appointment term is three to four years.

About you

You bring extensive experience in Audit Committees for large organisations, ideally within the public or local government sectors. Your expertise spans finance, legal, corporate systems, cybersecurity, and risk management. You hold relevant tertiary qualifications and professional memberships (e.g., CPA Australia, CA ANZ).

As an independent member, you will compliment a capable and diverse committee by bringing deep expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Strategic asset management
  • Project Management/Capital project oversight
  • IT & cybersecurity & data privacy
  • Financial management
  • ESG & sustainability
