About the Role

The Transport Network Operations branch provides high level maintenance, construction and asset management services for all road and related infrastructure assets (pavements, bridges, drainage, pathways and street furniture). Continuous performance through leadership and employee engagement is a critical focus of the group.

The role of a Civil Field Worker (Carpenter) is to carry out a hands-on role in delivering and maintaining efficient and effective day-to-day operation of civil maintenance and construction tasks.

As a Civil Field Worker (Carpenter), you will carry out day‑to‑day carpentry and civil maintenance tasks, including work on bridges, boardwalks, drainage, roads and other community assets.

You will operate tools and machinery safely while completing daily documentation and supporting your supervisor with job priorities.

You will also help maintain safe worksites by following WHS procedures, reporting hazards and contributing to a reliable, high‑performing team.

About you

As a requirement of this role, you are a trade‑qualified carpenter with practical civil construction experience and a strong focus on safety, teamwork and quality workmanship.

You will possess a General Induction Construction Card, and Certificate III Civil Construction.

You will have significant demonstrated previous experience involving Local Government construction and maintenance (or equivalent) work, including supervisory experience.

You will have demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member of a high performing team with the ability to work under limited supervision.
