About the Role
The Transport Network Management branch provides solutions and products to facilitate the ongoing management of our civil assets and associated services. The branch takes a service outcome focus on deriving solutions that may be delivered through assets, operations, or combinations of the two, to satisfy the specific need or Council policy/direction.
As a Senior Project Manager, you focus is to assist in the provision of integrated transport & engineering services to clients across council in the delivery of a safe and efficient transport network. To analyse, investigate, plan and design integrated transport planning initiatives within the context of design quality and best practice.
You will manage transport planning and associated public realm design projects and tasks within defined budgets and timeframes including the preparation, tendering and procurement of professional consultancy briefs and contracts.
You will undertake the preparation of initial project management documentation and associated conceptual and detailed transport documentation as required for civil construction projects throughout the Council network and undertake community consultation/engagement relating to the foundation and implementation of transport design projects while participating in public consultation as an advocate of Council to derive better transport design outcomes through active community involvement.
About you
As a requirement of this role, you will possess Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Technology or Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised University. Experience in Transport Engineering or Project Management qualifications.
You will have demonstrated experience in Transport Engineering project management and a demonstrated high level of skill at local government level, including theoretical and practical application.
You will have highly developed time management and organisation skills to manage significant or multiple projects and complex cases, manage multiple competing priorities, a variety of stakeholder expectations and influencing and achieving preferred business outcome.
You will have the ability to select and exercise an appropriate range of analytical, problem solving and investigative skills/techniques and develop actionable strategies and plans that will achieve project outcomes and objectives.
