About the Role

This role supports the planning, coordination and delivery of urban design and placemaking initiatives aligned with Council’s vision for a connected, liveable and thriving Sunshine Coast. You will play a key role in enabling effective design outcomes through strong administration, coordination and stakeholder support.

You will also provide high‑level, professional and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Manager Design and Placemaking Services, acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the branch.

  • Provide high‑level, professional and confidential executive support to the Manager Design and Placemaking Services
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, delivering responsive and professional customer service
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day branch administration, including diaries, meetings, correspondence and follow‑up actions
  • Prepare accurate correspondence, reports, agendas and minutes, undertaking research and analysis as required
  • Manage procurement, purchasing and payment processes as a Financial Order Controller, ensuring compliance with Council requirements
  • Support branch operations through effective record‑keeping, governance support and contribution to a collaborative, high‑performing team

About you

You’re a proactive and professional administrator who enjoys supporting leaders in a confidential, fast‑paced environment. Highly organised and customer‑focused, you bring sound judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with confidence.

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration, Local Government or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a professional environment handling confidential information
  • Strong organisational, time‑management and prioritisation skills
  • Well‑developed communication and customer service capability
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and corporate systems, including finance or records systems
  • A current C Class driver’s licence
