About the Role

The Design & Placemaking Services branch plans, designs and coordinates the delivery of built infrastructure projects and placemaking initiatives to enhance urban spaces and activate places that support communities, accessibility, sustainability and well-being.

The role of Landscape Architect is to support, lead, manage and deliver the efficient design and planning of allocated projects from the Capital Works Program and other projects and assignments as allocated.

As a Landscape Architect, you will support Senior Landscape Architects and Team Leaders in delivering allocated projects from the Capital Works Program and the Branch Strategic Direction.

You will provide landscape design expertise across allocated projects, helping develop project plans, stakeholder engagement approaches, and high‑quality design documentation from concept through to construction.

You will prepare schematic and concept designs, staging plans, cost opinions and detailed design packages that support tendering and construction.

About you

As a requirement of this role, you will possess a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture / Urban Design or relevant equivalent tertiary qualification from a recognised educational institution and have extensive professional experience.

You will possess a current “C” Class driver’s licence, and hold an active white card (construction), or ability to obtain prior to commencement.

You will have demonstrated and very high knowledge of design and documentation practices, planning, heritage, building and environmental legislation, and environmental, quality and safety systems.

You will have strong knowledge and experience in design and project management of medium scale landscape, urban design, open space and placemaking projects involving internal design teams, consultants, contracts and associated approvals

You will have demonstrated experience in delivering high quality graphics, design diagrams, plans, and documentation packages by application of project management package skills, Adobe Suite package (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft (word, excel, project, powerpoint, publisher), GIS systems.
