About the Role
Our Transport Network Operations branch is at the heart of maintaining and enhancing the Sunshine Coast’s vital infrastructure. From roads and bridges to pathways and drainage, we deliver high-quality services that keep our region connected and thriving. Join a team committed to innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
As a Field Leader (Civil), you’ll play a key role in supervising and coordinating asphalt teams across the Sunshine Coast. This is an exciting opportunity to lead skilled teams, manage resources, and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes for our community.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise and deliver construction of roads, drainage, and civil assets
- Coordinate crews, plant, and materials to meet project deadlines
- Interpret plans and set out works using survey equipment and levels
- Drive safety compliance and continuous improvement on all job sites
- Mentor and train new staff on asphalt handling and application.
About you
You hold a Certificate III in Civil Construction and have hands-on experience with asphalt, road, drainage, footpath, and bikeway projects. You’re skilled in the safe use and maintenance of tools and small plant to keep operations efficient.
You are confident coordinating civil works from start to finish. Managing crews, allocating plant and materials, and monitoring progress are second nature, and you work effectively under remote supervision while meeting deadlines.
Interpreting plans and specifications is part of your expertise.
You can set out works using survey equipment and levels, applying precision and best-practice methods to achieve quality outcomes.
Safety is integral to how you operate. With a General Construction Induction (White Card) and strong WHS knowledge, you embed safe work practices and lead continuous improvement across every site.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
