About the Role
The Design & Placemaking Services Branch plays a key role in providing coordinated expert solutions and designs to facilitate the ongoing management of our civil assets and associated services. The Branch focuses on service outcomes when deriving solutions to be delivered through assets, operations, or a combination, to satisfy the specific need or council policy / direction.
Contributing to the success of this Branch, the Design Engineer Project Officer is responsible for managing outsourced designs and external advice to identify and resolve technical issues that will affect delivery of the designs.
Primarily, you will:
- Manage the design of infrastructure projects and priority projects for the region.
- Identify project anomalies, project risks by applying a due diligence approach, variations and resolve or implement effective risk mitigation strategies to the design.
- Provide proactive technical design advice (under RPEQ Supervision) to council officers,
- Working towards become an RPEQ, you will be required to support responsible for the direct supervision of the allocated Civil Designers resources to deliver the designs required in for the capital works program.
About you
As a professional in this field you will be well versed with strong project management experience in a project development, economic analysis and financial management focus. You will have demonstrated leaderships skills to lead and coach other staff in the team. To be successful in this role, you will have strong time management and communication skills as well as substantial knowledge working with the relevant legislation.
As a requirement of this role, you will posses a Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Project Management, Planning or other similar qualifications relevant to the field and substantial relevant experience.
