About the Role
The Urban Growth Projects Branch leads the planning and delivery of infrastructure that supports sustainable growth across the Sunshine Coast. Working within the Sustainable Growth & Planning Department, the branch partners with community, stakeholders and industry to deliver integrated transport networks that connect people and places, supporting a thriving and liveable region.
As the Transport Capital Works Lead, you will play a critical role in planning, developing and delivering transport infrastructure projects across Council’s Capital Works Program. You will investigate network needs, develop solutions, manage project scope and provide expert engineering advice—contributing directly to safe, efficient and future-ready transport systems. This is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful projects that shape how the region moves and grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, investigation and costing of transport projects
- Prepare project briefs for Capital Works Program delivery
- Review designs to meet engineering standards and policies
- Provide expert advice and represent Council in stakeholder forums
About you
You bring strong experience in transport planning and capital works programs, with the ability to assess network challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions.
You excel at building relationships, engaging with stakeholders and the community, and navigating complex issues with clarity and professionalism.
You have a degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) and the ability to produce high-quality technical reports that translate complex engineering issues into clear insights.
You are analytical, adaptable, and driven to deliver outcomes aligned with transport strategies, policies, and community expectations.
