About the Role

The Arts, Heritage and Libraries branch enlivens and enriches the lives of residents and visitors through the provision of library services, creative, cultural and heritage programs, opportunities, knowledge, development, connections and experience.

The purpose of the technical support officer role is to provide technical support, development, maintenance and management of technology to support the effective and successful delivery of library services.

Primarily, you will:

  • Provide technical support, maintenance and management for Sunshine Coast Libraries technology including hardware and software for systems including Library Management System, apps, telephony and communication platforms, printing and copying, RFID, networks, devices, eResources.
  • Manage help desk and service tickets with external vendors of library systems and internally (with Digital and Information Services) on behalf of Library Services.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation of integrations, architecture, procedures and work instructions to ensure quality processes that are consistent and repeatable.
  • Assist in the development, distribution and support of new or amended library specific and organisation wide hardware, software and systems, including upgrades and migrations.

About you

As a requirement of this role, you will possess a mandatory Diploma in Information Science, Information Technology or other relevant qualification, or equivalent experience.

You will have demonstrated experience in a library services or information technology services environment as well as strong communication, project management, prioritisation and organisation skills with demonstrated ability to respond to emerging issues and plan, coordinate and deliver outcomes for projects.

As someone with experience in this role, you will have the ability to strongly investigative, be analytical and you’re your research skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve problems and initiate customer focused solutions.

As a desirable requirement of this role, you will possess a current “C” Class Drivers Licence.
