About the Role

The Digital and Information Services Branch plays a critical role in enabling Council to deliver secure, reliable and customer-focused digital services to the community. As part of the Business Transformation and Performance Department, the branch is at the forefront of innovation—supporting modern workplace technologies, enhancing service delivery, and driving continuous improvement across Council’s digital landscape.

As the Technical Services Architect, you will provide strategic, technical, and people leadership for Council’s end-user computing (EUC) and desktop platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of workplace technology, lead impactful initiatives, and ensure secure, efficient, and modern digital environments that support both staff and community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver EUC/desktop strategic roadmaps aligned to corporate goals
  • Provide expert technical leadership across desktop architecture and platforms
  • Lead, mentor and support a technical team while ensuring service excellence
  • Govern SOE, endpoint security, application deployment and platform lifecycle

This position is based at  Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.

  • You are an experienced leader who motivates and develops teams, confidently guiding performance, building capability, and fostering a collaborative culture.
  • You bring exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to influence outcomes, navigate complexity, and build strong working relationships across technical and business groups.
  • You are analytical and solutions-focused, with the ability to solve complex challenges, implement innovative technologies, and continuously improve service delivery in a dynamic environment.
