About the Role

The Finance Team is responsible for financial management and governance, ensuring effective business management and legislative compliance.

In this role, you will contribute to the ongoing development, integration and security of Council’s financial systems; the efficiency and effectiveness of system financial processes; and the provision of professional advice and expertise on systems accounting and development.

Key duties include:

  • Developing, managing, monitoring and reporting on project related trends and performance against plans and schedules.
  • Leading complex business process reviews incorporating the design, development, integration and implementation of key Finance business systems from initiation to closure.
  • Developing Acceptance Test Plans and providing guidance and training to Testers in the development of test scripts and performance of testing.
  • Developing and implementing Change Management Strategies founded upon stakeholder consultation and change impact data analysis to achieve a smooth and successful adoption of change by the organisation.
  • Administration of the Technology One CiAnywhere (CiA) Financials and Supply Chain applications (e.g. menus, security, data entry formats, ledgers, processing groups, module configuration and others).

About you

  • As a requirement of this role, you have obtained a formal relevant qualification (Degree) in a relevant discipline, preferably supported by further professional development and/or substantial relevant industry knowledge and experience in a large organisation.
  • You demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with particular emphasis in the areas of building effective relationships, consultation, negotiation, conflict resolution and assertiveness in order to resolve issues and meet changing organisational needs.
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in system analysis and design, application support systems and methodologies, financial packages and their interrelationships and operation in an open environment, combined with broad experience in successfully project managing a range of complex system implementation projects from initiation to closure.
  • You have thorough knowledge and practical experience in integrated financial systems and processes and other systems as they relate to Local Government as well as Accounting Standards (including International Financial Reporting Standards) and Local Government Accounting Standards.
