About the Role

Development Services sits within Council’s Sustainable Growth & Planning Group and plays a vital role in enabling sustainable development across the Sunshine Coast. The Branch works closely with industry and the community to deliver high‑quality planning, engineering, environment, and compliance outcomes. It’s a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven environment where teamwork, innovation, and customer service excellence are front and centre.

As a Support Officer (Level 2–3), you’ll provide high‑quality administrative and business support to teams responsible for development assessment and customer requests. This role is essential to ensuring workflows run smoothly, records are accurate, and customers receive timely, professional service. With variety, responsibility, and opportunities to contribute to improved systems and processes, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured yet dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver frontline customer service support as part of a rostered phone service, managing customer enquiries and coordinating plumbing inspection bookings in accordance with relevant
  • Provide administrative support for development applications and service requests
  • Deliver professional, timely, and customer‑focused service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage data entry, retrieval, and reporting across corporate systems
  • Maintain accurate electronic records in line with records management policies
  • Support workflow coordination to meet legislative and corporate timeframes
  • Assist with meetings, correspondence, and general office administration
  • Process financial and transactional activities accurately
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and standard documentation
  • Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and support business outcomes

This position is based at  Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.
