About the Role

Development Services plays a key role in enabling sustainable development that supports strong communities, environmental stewardship and a thriving local economy. The Branch delivers timely, customer‑focused development assessment, advice and advocacy across planning, engineering, environment, landscape, plumbing, building and compliance services.

As a Support Officer, you will:

  • Provide courteous, timely and professional administrative support to branch teams.
  • Assist with processing development applications and customer service requests.
  • Accurately maintain information across records, CRM and property/mapping systems.
  • Generate basic and statistical reports as required within timeframes.
  • Follow established legislative processes and workflows to meet statutory deadlines.
  • Support job‑task rotation, problem‑solve routine issues and contribute to team flexibility.
  • Share knowledge, assist in procedure updates and contribute to training materials.
  • Undertake advanced administrative tasks including word processing, data entry and financial processing (Level 3).
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, procedures and administrative processes.
  • Mentor and guide other support officers while contributing to capability development (Level 3)

This position is based at  Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.
