About the Role
The Parks and Gardens branch are responsible for the care, management, and operation of a comprehensive network of public open space and recreational areas which have been established for active and passive recreation for the community and the preservation of the natural features of landscape and environment along the Sunshine Coast, largely within the urban environment.
As a Skilled Parks Worker you will be responsible for carrying out a key role plant operation activity in delivering and maintaining efficient and effective day-to-day operation of parks, natural areas, roadside vegetation, and landscape improvement activities.
You will have knowledge in general operation of any of the following plant:
- Pneumatic tyred tractor without powered attachments;
- Pneumatic tyred tractor with powered attachment up to 110 KW;
- Any other plant allowable under the Award.
You will carry out Leading Hand responsibilities as required, including the supervision of tasks and the provision of on-the-job coaching as required, and work effectively as a member of a high performing team and always ensuring the provision of high-quality customer service, and ensure that all work is carried out in a timely manner to the required quality standards while identifying new ways to improve work practices.
About you
As a requirement for this role, you will possess a CPCCOHS1001A - Work Safely in the Construction - White Card.
You will possess a Current “C” class driver’s licence & LR Licence, and a Certificate III in Horticulture or you will have relevant experience.
You are required to meet obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
