About the Role

The Environment and Sustainability Policy Branch is responsible for advice, advocacy and preparation of strategic policy and planning documents to guide the sustainable future of the natural environment and liveability of the Sunshine Coast.

The Senior Social Infrastructure Planner leads the development, implementation and review of strategic social policy including social infrastructure network planning and project planning. The role provides specialist strategic advice and advocacy on social policy issues and works as part of a highly effective and motivated multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead the development, implementation and review of Council’s strategic policy and long-term network planning for social infrastructure.
  • Project manage planning for new social infrastructure projects, including feasibility, functional briefs and concept designs.
  • Provide specialist social planning and social infrastructure strategic policy and network planning advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare a strong evidence base for social policy, social infrastructure network planning and project planning.

This position is based at the Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.

About you

You will be exposed to a depth of knowledge and opportunities to develop leadership and technical skills and a chance to grow with Council. But mostly, you want your work to make a visible impact in the community you love.

You will have demonstrated advanced project management skills with relevance to the role.

You will possess demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking skills and the ability to think logically, creatively and laterally within a multi-disciplinary environment.

As a requirement of this role, you will have formal relevant qualification (Degree) and extensive experience and demonstrated record of achievements in social policy development and strategic social infrastructure network planning within a government context.
