About the Role
As a Senior Property Officer, you will lead and manage Council’s land and property portfolio, ensuring effective management of Council’s landholdings and tenure arrangements for a diverse range of stakeholders. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on negotiation and compliance responsibilities.
Key duties:
- Lead and mentor Property Officers to achieve team goals.
- Provide expert advice on land and compliance matters over Council owned and managed land assets as well as private landholdings.
- Effectively manage land transactions including easements, encroachments, land access, and road closure proposals.
- Develop strategies to optimise the use of Council’s land to reduce costs and explore revenue generating opportunities.
- Manage leasing and tenure arrangements across diverse portfolios.
- Negotiate tenancy agreements and resolve complex property issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on property projects.
- Ensure adherence to legislation, policies, and best practice standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in property and land management processes.
About you
You are an experienced property and land management professional with:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in property and land management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor.
- Proven negotiation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Sound knowledge of legislation and compliance requirements.
- High-level analytical, financial, and project management skills.
