About the Role

Join Sunshine Coast Council and play a pivotal role in delivering transformative infrastructure projects that will leave a lasting legacy for our community. As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead complex, high-profile initiatives, including The Wave”, that connect people, enhance liveability, and support our vision of being Australia’s most sustainable region: Connected. Liveable. Thriving**.**

This role ensures successful integration of returned works into community networks along with project managing associated Council works, delivering positive outcomes for the Sunshine Coast Council as the legacy asset owner. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Build productive relationships across all levels to influence high-quality planning, design, and construction outcomes.
  • Monitor and report project risks, implementing mitigation strategies with the Project Sponsor and Manager.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and innovation across the project.
  • Supervise and coordinate team members, consultants, and contractors, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Coordinate with partners the planning, design, construction, and handover of complex works including roads, sporting complexes, active transport and community facilities.
  • Prepare and secure approvals, permits, and documentation for project delivery.
  • Ensure quality assurance and timely transfer of asset data into Council systems.
  • Lead community and stakeholder consultations, meetings, and workshops.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, recommendations, and updates for governance and decision-making.

About you

You’re a dynamic leader who thrives on delivering complex infrastructure projects that make a real impact. With a strong technical background and proven experience managing large-scale programs, you bring strategic thinking, innovation, and a collaborative approach to everything you do. You’re confident in navigating challenges and influencing stakeholders through exceptional communication skills, and driving outcomes that align with Council’s vision for a connected, liveable, and thriving region. If you’re passionate about shaping the future of the Sunshine Coast and leading high-performing teams, we want to hear from you.  You will be:

  • Degree qualifications in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar.
  • Proven experience leading major infrastructure projects from planning through delivery.
  • Strong contract management and communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Advanced project management capability with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and complex programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes during planning, design, and construction phases.
  • Current Queensland White Card and “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
