About the Role

Sunshine Coast Council is seeking a proactive Project Officer to act as a conduit between Council and business, supporting the delivery of the Regional Economic Development Strategy through collaboration with community--led stakeholder groups. This role is central to attracting new economic life and vitality to targeted localities, with an initial focus on Nambour.

  • Coordinate and deliver tailored place activation programs, events, and initiatives, both on the ground and online, in Gateway Precincts as identified by the Chief Economic Development Officer.
  • Engage stakeholders to support business improvement initiatives, working closely with other Council teams to ensure successful joint delivery of programs.
  • Assist in promotional activities that attract new economic life and vitality to targeted localities, including developing and sharing communications aligned with activation goals.
  • Provide administrative and project support that anticipates and meets the service delivery needs of the team.
  • Administer systems and data, including inputting, searching, collating, and reporting using a range of corporate applications such as SharePoint, electronic records management, customer and property systems, financial tools, and HR platforms.

About you

We are seeking candidates who are proactive and ready to, relish the variety and complexity our projects afford. You will require:

  • Extensive experience in an administrative work environment and the ability to provide a high standard of administrative and project support services.
  • Innovative and strategic problem-solving capabilities and a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong time management, marketing, work prioritisation and organisation skills

As a requirement of this role, you will have a Certificate III or IV in Business Administration/Local Government or other relevant disciplines, or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience.
