About the Role

The Transport Network Operations branch provides high level maintenance, construction and asset management services for all roads and related infrastructure assets.

In this role, you will inspect and evaluate contractor compliance with plans and specifications for the delivery of civil asset projects under the supervision of the Projects Engineer and Contract Technical Officer.

Key Duties include:

• Plan timely and effective program inspections of civil asset projects managed by the contract’s delivery team.
• Undertake site inspections, audits and evaluations of contractor and subcontractor compliance with plans, specifications, and contract provisions.
• Ensure programs are managed through council’s project management office & compliant with Australian standards.
• Provide technical advice in relation to pre-construction, construction and maintenance.
• Conduct audits of contractor’s work, processes and quality records to ensure compliance with governance and contract conditions.

About you

Working with road asphalt and understanding the technical requirements of road maintenance and construction, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of TMR standards and specifications. An expert in the inspection of contractor and sub-contractor work, will ensure value and quality targets are consistently met.

Qualifications such as a Certificate IV Civil Construction and White Card (CPCCOHS1001A - Work Safely in the Construction Industry) are a must. With additional Work Health & Safety, Traffic Controller certifications valued.

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
