About the Role

Ready to shape the future of the Sunshine Coast? As Principal Property Officer (Strategy), you'll lead high-impact property initiatives that drive growth, unlock opportunities and ensure Council's property portfolio delivers maximum value for the community.

Join a dynamic team where you’ll lead strategic property initiatives, manage high-profile projects, influence key land use decisions, and work with a diverse range of stakeholders to maximise community and organisational outcomes.

  • Lead and deliver strategic property projects and initiatives.
  • Provide expert property advice, research and analysis, and recommendations.
  • Conduct land reviews to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Manage end-to-end EOI processes for community and development projects.
  • Drive strategic asset and portfolio management outcomes.
  • Coordinate and negotiate acquisitions, disposals, leases and resumptions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and government agencies.
  • Contribute to major property development and business projects.
  • Develop property strategies, policies and best-practice frameworks.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

About you

We're looking for a strategic property professional who thrives on complexity, thinks commercially, and delivers results. You'll bring strong stakeholder management skills, sound property expertise, and the confidence to lead high-impact projects that shape the future of the Sunshine Coast.

  • Degree qualification in property, planning, valuation or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in strategic land use planning and property projects.
  • Skills in land reviews, site assessments and feasibility analysis.
  • Knowledge of property development and planning processes.
  • Experience in asset management and capital planning.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commercial acumen with experience preparing business cases and reports.
  • Leadership and project management experience.
  • Knowledge of property transactions, valuation principles and legislation.
  • Current C Class Driver Licence.
