About the Role

The Governance and Executive Services Branch provides high level governance advice and assistance to support the decision-making processes of Council and the delivery of the strategic directions and outcomes of Council’s statutory decision-making process.

The role of Mayoral Support Officer is to provide professional customer focussed administration, research and support to the Mayor and Councillors while effectively contributing to a whole of organisation, integrated approach to responding to customer requests for information and service.

As a Mayoral Support Officer, you will provide a comprehensive range of administrative support and executive assistant services to assist the Mayor to carry out their duties and council business, including managing the Mayor’s diary, correspondence and a large-volume email in-box with a high attention to detail.

This position is based at  Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.

About you

As a requirement of this role, you will possess a Certificate III in Business Administration, Local Government or similar, or have equivalent relevant experience in an administrative role.

You will possess strong time management, strong time management, work prioritisation and organisation skills with demonstrated ability to work both independently and interdependently to ensure work tasks are delivered on time and to a high standard.
