About the Role

Development Services sits within Council’s Sustainable Growth and Planning directorate and plays a critical role in enabling responsible development across the Sunshine Coast. The Branch works closely with industry and stakeholders to deliver timely, customer‑focused development assessment services across planning, engineering, environment, building and compliance, supporting Council’s vision of a connected, liveable and thriving region.

As the Manager’s Assistant, you will provide high‑level, confidential administrative and customer support to the Manager Development Services while acting as a central point of contact for the Branch. This is a dynamic and trusted role where your organisation, judgement and proactive approach directly support leadership effectiveness, service delivery and positive stakeholder outcomes.

  • Provide comprehensive executive support, including diary, meeting and workflow management.
  • Prepare high‑quality correspondence, reports, agendas and minutes, following up actions as required.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications and maintain accurate electronic records.
  • Support Branch operations through administration, HR processes and stakeholder event coordination.

This position is based at  Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.

About you

You’re highly organised and thrive in fast‑paced environments, confidently managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

You communicate professionally and clearly, building strong relationships and delivering excellent customer service with tact, discretion and confidence.

You bring experience in administrative or office support roles and use initiative, sound judgement and problem‑solving skills to keep things moving smoothly.

You’re tech‑savvy and comfortable using a range of systems and software, with a commitment to confidentiality, continuous improvement and quality outcomes.
