About the Role
The Strategic Planning Branch is responsible for the development and management of strategic land use planning policy, comprising the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme, Local Government Infrastructure Plan and related plans and strategies. The Branch aims to positively shape the future of the region in a way that is reflective of the strategic direction of Council and ensures compliance with relevant legislation and statutory instruments.
This role focuses on the provision of Infrastructure charging services in the calculation and creation of infrastructure charges notices, also involving advice and quotations.
Key Duties:
- Engage directly and effectively with the developers and/or consultants and internal areas of Council in the provision of accurate and timely information.
- Interpret development conditions that span a wide number of infrastructure charges regimes.
- Participate in the timely development, preparation and introduction of development forecasts and the preparation and review of Infrastructure Charges process and systems.
- Ensure that the various infrastructure charges policies applying discounts, rebates, offsets and incentive schemes are taken into account when assessing infrastructure charges.
About you
- You possess a relevant tertiary qualification in business, local government, planning or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- You have sound knowledge of and/or significant proven experience in a finance or costing environment.
- You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate persuasively and engage in active listening.
- You have strong time management and organisation skills to manage significant or multiple projects and complex cases,
