About the Role

Strategy and Policy Coordination Services sits at the centre of Council’s strategic direction—driving corporate planning, performance and reporting while building strong partnerships across the organisation and beyond.

As a Grants Officer, you’ll play a critical role in securing external funding that delivers real outcomes. You’ll coordinate and develop high‑quality funding applications, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and strengthen Council’s reputation as a trusted, reliable funding partner.

  • Build strong internal and external relationships to identify funding opportunities and deliver compelling grant applications
  • Stay ahead of state and federal funding programs to support strategic planning and prioritisation
  • Partner with business areas to deliver compliant, high‑quality applications, agreements and acquittals
  • Provide expert advice on funding submissions, guidelines, assessment criteria and government priorities
  • Strengthen organisational capability through tools, templates, training and best‑practice grant processes
  • Maintain accurate funding records, internal communication channels and clear, insightful reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and support branch priorities during peak periods

About you

We’re seeking a capable and motivated Grants Officer who brings strong grants expertise, sharp judgement and a collaborative mindset. You’ll be confident navigating government funding environments, producing high‑quality submissions and building trusted relationships that deliver results.

  • Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in grants or the public sector
  • Hands‑on experience developing, managing and acquitting government grant programs
  • Strong knowledge of funding guidelines, compliance requirements and assessment criteria
  • Excellent organisation and time‑management skills
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build strong working relationships across the organisation
  • Confidence using contemporary office systems and maintaining accurate records
  • A current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
