About the Role

The Directorate Support Officer plays a vital role in enabling the Directorate to deliver on its corporate priorities through high quality coordination and business support. As a key point of contact for internal and external clients, you’ll provide confidential administrative support to the Director and wider team, delivering outstanding customer service with professionalism and discretion.

  • Provide confidential administrative support to the Director.
  • Maintain ownership of the administrative inbox, ensuring all emails are monitored, prioritised, and actioned or allocated appropriately.
  • Coordinate and manage correspondence, reports and documentation in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Work closely with the Personal Assistant to assist with meeting scheduling, diary coordination and executive support tasks.
  • Process procurement and payments in line with Council procedures.
  • Prepare Directorate communications, including newsletters.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day office administration and liaise across Council.
  • Maintain records and information in line with governance requirements.
  • Deliver consistent, high‑quality customer service as part of the Directorate Support team.

About you

We’re looking for a proactive and organised administration professional with a strong understanding of corporate processes and governance. You’ll bring a Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or equivalent experience, along with sound business acumen and the ability to interpret policies, procedures and guidelines. You’re highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage competing priorities while working both independently and as part of a team. With strong written and verbal communication skills, confidence using Microsoft Office, and a current C Class driver’s licence, you’ll deliver accurate, timely and professional support in a busy directorate environment.
