About the Role
Are you looking to start your career as part of the Development Services team at Sunshine Coast Council? Our Development Information Officers are the first point of contact for development-related enquiries, providing high-quality, customer focused, development advice and services for residents as well as the planning, building and plumbing industries.
As a Development Information Officer you will be a part of a highly effective and motivated team in a highly customer facing and professional role. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing accurate and timely development information, sound advice and assistance to customers and staff through effective questioning, research and analysis.
- Preparing correspondence to external customers to facilitate responses to searches and information requests.
- Apply a developed knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation, applicable planning schemes, and the statutory planning principles that underpin them
About you
You are ideally hold a Certificate II or III in Business Administration, Diploma of Local Government (Planning), tertiary qualification in Urban Planning or other relevant discipline and/or have substantial experience working in a large local government in the customer services and development services environment.
Pivotal to this position are your outstanding time management skills with exceptional attention to detail in resolving routine challenges. You pride yourself on the customer experience and enjoy working as part of a team to achieve common goals. Your ‘can-do’ attitude will see you thrive in this role.
As someone well-versed in computer skills, your expertise in, data entry and the Microsoft Office Suite will be highly utilised in this role. You will have a willingness to learn other software and corporate systems as necessary.
