About the Role
The Property & Commercial Partnerships Branch plays a critical role in optimising Council’s land and property assets to support community outcomes, financial sustainability, and responsible growth. The Branch takes a whole‑of‑Council approach to land stewardship, balancing legislative compliance, community needs, and long‑term strategic planning in one of Australia’s most dynamic regions. designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.
As Coordinator Land Management, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Council’s land management function, overseeing a diverse portfolio of community, commercial and non‑operational land assets. This is a senior, high‑impact role where you will influence policy, guide complex land dealings, and lead a skilled team to deliver best‑practice asset and property management aligned with Council’s long‑term vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Land Management Team to deliver best‑practice asset outcomes
- Develop and implement strategies and policies for Council’s land portfolio
- Oversee land, lease and tenure management, ensuring legislative compliance
- Manage capital, maintenance and operational programs for community‑tenanted assets
About you
You’re a senior land or property management professional with the credibility and experience to operate confidently in a complex public sector environment. You bring sound judgement, strategic insight and a strong sense of stewardship over public assets.
You hold formal tertiary qualifications in Property Economics, Valuation or a related discipline, supported by substantial experience in senior land or property management roles within a large, diverse organisation. Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
You have in‑depth knowledge of land management, property and leasing practices, with a proven track record navigating legislative, policy and compliance obligations specific to public sector land assets.
You’re a capable and engaging leader with strong communication skills, able to influence stakeholders, develop high‑performing teams and deliver clear, well‑reasoned advice that supports informed decision‑making at a senior level.
