About the Role
Sunshine Coast Council is seeking an experience Aerospace and Defence Industry Lead to work within our Economic Development Branch. The branch connects Council with business to support jobs and economic growth.
Contribute at a senior level to the delivery of Council’s economic development agenda and support the development and implementation of a range of strategies and projects.
Specific responsibilities of the Aerospace and Defence Industry Lead position are: Manage the business development relationship between Council and Sunshine Coast Airport
Collaborate with Council’s Property Team to promote Caloundra Aerodrome as a prime aerospace investment destination. Support activities that drive the growth of the Aerospace and Defence Industry both on-site and in surrounding industrial areas
Maintain a current understanding of the economic landscape, market trends, and regulatory environment affecting the aerospace sector.
Engage proactively with regional and state aerospace industry stakeholders, as well as local airport and aerodrome operators, to gauge industry sentiment.
About you
Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role and/or extensive experience in a similar capacity.
Proven experience in identifying and developing major economic development initiatives, with a strong focus on the Aerospace and Defence sectors.
Demonstrated ability to manage and implement project plans that drive regional economic growth.
A strong track record of building and maintaining productive relationships with industry groups across diverse sectors.
A current “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
