About the Role

The Finance Branch is responsible for the financial management and governance, ensuring effective business management and legislative compliance.

The role is to provide high quality accounts payable services to both internal and external customers, working on a partnership basis to ensure the business can achieve its goals.

Tasks may include but not limited to:

  • Prepare information for processing in the financial information system.
  • Input information via various methods including data entry, and electronic data transfer into the financial information system.
  • Ensure the quality (accuracy, timeliness and integrity) of information processed in the financial information system.
  • Alert the Team Leader Accounts Payable of any suspicious or potentially fraudulent activity before taking further processing action.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Council’s creditor database and Purchase Card register system.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant GST legislation.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Technology One Financials Accounts Payable and Purchase Card Modules. 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong customer service skills with the demonstrated ability to respond to sensitive enquiries in a professional and effective manner. You will have demonstrated understanding of relevant computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and financial systems along with a high level of data processing accuracy. 

Proven ability to work as an effective and positive team member demonstrating flexibility and can-do attitude will see you thrive in this role.
 

Ideally, you will have a Certificate III in Business Administration or similar field and/or equivalent relevant experience. 

Appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
