About the Role
An exciting new space is opening in our community, and we are looking forward to building a new team of amazing customer focused library team members. Library+ Caloundra is a state-of-the-art space for our community and will enrich the lives of our residents.
Arts, Heritage and Libraries branch provides library services, creative, cultural and heritage programs. Library+ Caloundra will meet the demand for a contemporary experience that includes expanded programs and service access for the community.
Based at Caloundra Library, this leadership role supports daily operations, staff coordination, and customer service delivery. You’ll help shape a positive library experience while contributing to programs, outreach, and collection management.
The role responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead daily library operations and supervise staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across a busy branch.
- Support and coach team members to meet service benchmarks and contribute to a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
- Coordinate and deliver programs and outreach activities that engage target audiences and reflect community needs.
- Maintain collection standards through regular audits, ensuring compliance with presentation, repair, and replacement protocols.
About you
As a requirement of this role, you will:
- Possess a Diploma of Librarian and Information Science or other related discipline or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrated substantial relevant experience in a Library environment, customer service environment or other relevant experience.
- Have the ability to undertake regular weekend work (under any 5 in 7 arrangement) as required.
- Possess current Blue Card and current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one.
- Have strong communication and customer service skills with demonstrated ability to use initiative and sound judgement to guide employees, and resolve issues.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
