About the Role
The Customer Response branch ensures the education, safety and amenity of the Sunshine Coast Community.
To provide urgent response to high priority requests to improve customer service or community outcomes and address politically sensitive matters; often requiring investigation and the application of Council’s Compliance and Enforcement Policy.
- Actively contribute to an effective and efficient investigations program to ensure compliance with Council’s Local Laws and other relevant State and Federal legislation.
- In a timely manner investigate complaints, gather evidence, provide recommendations and develop correspondence including compliance, show cause or enforcement notices.
- Take a lead role in the investigation of sensitive or complex matters requiring an urgent response from Council.
- Compile briefs of evidence, liaise with relevant Response Services employees and Council’s legal representatives and arrange the issuing of summons as required.
About you
As a professional in Response Services, you will have substantial relevant experience with demonstrated ability to apply legislation, policies, standards, regulations and procedures relevant to the area of work.
You will have demonstrated investigative and analytical skills with the ability to actively listen, document briefs of evidence, gather sensitive information and ensure the application of procedural fairness to inform quality recommendations that are in line with Council policy.
You will have strong communication and customer service skills with demonstrated ability to prepare standard business correspondence.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess a Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) or similar qualifications.

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
Criminal History Check Required?
Appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
