About the Role
An exciting new space has just opened in our community, and we are looking forward to building a new team of amazing customer focused library team members. Library+ Caloundra is a state-of-the-art space for our community and will enrich the lives of our residents.
Arts, Heritage and Libraries branch provides library services, creative, cultural and heritage programs. Library+ Caloundra will meet the demand for a contemporary experience that includes expanded programs and service access for the community.
This role will deliver outstanding service to customers, champion all library services and resources, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Library+ Caloundra, including but not limited to:
- Provide support and guidance to other employees and volunteers engaged in learning opportunities such as familiarisation with the library management system, library catalogue and other business processes and procedures.
- Promote and deliver a range of library programs including story time, lifelong learning sessions, technology sessions, outreach and events.
- Assist with the retail presentation of libraries ensuring they remain fresh and modern looking places.
- Perform library duties such as shelving, issues, returns and collection maintenance.
About you

In this role you will provide guidance and support to our community, and are genuinely passionate about library services, reading and literature.
As a minimum requirement of this role, you will have:
- A Certificate III in Library and Information Services or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Experienced in delivering library programs with strong communication and customer service skills, including managing large groups for children’s literacy activities, digital literacy training, and workshops.
- Proficient in general computer use with a strong ability and enthusiasm for learning and teaching new technologies, including equipment, applications, and systems
- Ability to work regular weekends (under an any 5 in 7 arrangement) as rostered, including early morning and evening work.
- Current Blue Card and current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
Criminal History Check Required
Appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
