About the Role
The Arts, Heritage and Libraries branch enriches the lives of residents and visitors by providing arts and cultural leadership, opportunities, knowledge, development, connections and experience.
In this role, you will assist with the development and delivery of Caloundra Regional Gallery and offsite exhibitions and management of the Sunshine Coast Art Collection.
Key Duties:
- Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of Caloundra Regional Gallery exhibition and Artisan Pop-Up programs, as well as Coordinate the Maroochydore Library Artspace Program.
- Assist with the development of exhibition timelines and administration of art prizes as required, including presentations, web updates and proofing of documents.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records with regards to the exhibition program, including loan agreements, condition reports (incoming/outgoing), artwork labels, copyright permissions and artwork register.
- Assist with exhibition-related payments to artists and contractors and in the analysis of exhibitions to the Brand and Audience Engagement Lead for reporting.
- Support the Art Gallery Director to lead the Exhibition Installation Team in the delivery, installation, dismantling and uplift of exhibitions.
- Coordinate Maroochydore Library Artspace program including expression of interest process and exhibition installations and assist in public programs for Artspace.
- Assist the Senior Art Curator (Collections) with exhibition displays, rotations, maintenance and storage and associated documentation (ie. Labels, loan agreements, condition reports) of the Sunshine Coast Art Collection.
- Assist with general gallery tasks as required, including reception front of house duties, store sales, opening and closing of the venue, volunteer supervision and exhibition related events.
- Assist with administrative support for recording data and records management of data.
About you
You will possess a tertiary qualification/s relevant to art history, gallery & museum studies or equivalent
You will be experienced in the delivery of innovative gallery/museum exhibitions and programs.
As a requirement of this role you must have strong time management, work prioritisation and organisation skills with demonstrated ability to work both independently and interdependently to ensure work tasks are delivered on time and to a high standard.
You have strong communication and customer service skills with demonstrated ability to prepare standard business correspondence.
You have an active blue card or ability to obtain prior to your commencement.
You must hold a current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence and be available to work outside normal hours when required
