About the Role

The Sports & Community Venues Branch plays a vital role in delivering high-quality community facilities that support participation, wellbeing, social connection and economic activity across the region. Operating premier venues including Sunshine Coast Stadium, the branch works closely with sporting clubs, event organisers and community groups to create outstanding experiences for residents and visitors while contributing to the Sunshine Coast's exciting future as a key delivery partner for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

As an Events & Operations Officer, you will support the planning, coordination and day-to-day operation of Sunshine Coast Stadium and associated venues. Working closely with event organisers, sporting clubs, community groups and internal stakeholders, you'll help deliver successful events while ensuring exceptional customer service and smooth venue operations. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines event coordination, venue administration, stakeholder engagement and operational support, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate event planning activities, operational schedules and venue logistics for a diverse range of sporting and community events.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with sporting clubs, community groups, customers and key stakeholders.
  • Manage venue administration including bookings, hire agreements, invoicing, attendance reporting and customer enquiries.
  • Support day-to-day venue operations, act as Duty Manager when required and help ensure facilities are presented to a high standard.

About you

  • You understand sport, events and community venues.
You bring relevant qualifications or experience in business administration, sport management, event coordination or venue operations and have a genuine interest in creating exceptional customer and event experiences.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organised and proactive, you can manage competing priorities, work independently and consistently deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
  • You are a people person.
With strong communication and customer service skills, you build positive relationships, confidently manage enquiries and use sound judgement to resolve issues professionally.
  • You are confident with technology and adaptable.
You are comfortable using Microsoft Office and can quickly learn booking, invoicing and venue management systems while adapting to the changing needs of a busy events environment. Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, will help you succeed in this role.
