About the Role
As an Environmental Health Officer, you’ll play a vital role in promoting and preserving healthy communities and a sustainable environment. You will:
- Investigate public health and environmental risks, including food safety and nuisances
- Undertake compliance inspections and audits under relevant legislation
- Respond to asbestos exposure incidents and coordinate decontamination
- Provide advice and negotiate on public health matters for events and applications
- Contribute to policy development and community education programs
About you
You are a qualified professional with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or related discipline
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Current “C” class driver’s licence
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
Appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
