About the Role
Each day Council is responsible for delivering high level civil maintenance and construction activities to support the needs of our growing community. This role will provide a rewarding opportunity for someone who possesses experience within the industry and can hit the ground running, assisting with general construction and maintenance labouring tasks associated with, and including truck and plant operations if required.
Join our Transport Network Operations – Construction Delivery team and play a key role in operating heavy vehicles and supporting civil construction and maintenance across the Sunshine Coast.
Key duties include:
- Operate medium rigid trucks and other plant in line with licensing and safety requirements
- Assist with general civil construction and maintenance tasks
- Maintain and operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Comply with WH&S and environmental standards and procedures
- Complete daily documentation including timesheets, logbooks, and incident reports
- Support a safe, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
About you
As a skilled and safety-conscious operator, you’ll bring:
- A current “C” Class and Medium Rigid (MR) driver’s licence
- A General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) – Blue/White Card
- Physical fitness and agility for manual labour and heavy lifting
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Relevant licences and tickets to operate heavy vehicles and plant
Desirable qualifications:
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent experience
- Experience operating and maintaining trucks and civil construction equipment
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
