About the Role
Sport & Community Venues delivers a diverse range of high‑quality community facilities that strengthen social cohesion, support wellbeing and contribute to an active, thriving region. The Branch is dedicated to excellent service, strong community partnerships and providing welcoming spaces that enrich the Sunshine Coast community.
As a Centre Support Assistant, you’ll play a key front‑of‑house role supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the Centre, creating positive customer experiences and ensuring smooth, efficient facility use. This position is active, varied and highly people‑focused—ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with the community and being part of a dynamic, multi‑functional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Centre users and event promoters while providing friendly, professional service
- Deliver reception and point‑of‑sale functions, including bookings and enquiries
- Assist with events, including setup, pack‑down and equipment distribution
- Maintain presentation standards and help ensure the Centre remains clean and welcoming
About you
• You are a confident communicator who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences within a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment.
• You bring strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Centre.
• You work collaboratively within a team, thrive in dynamic settings, and step in to support others whenever needed.
• You are proactive, adaptable, and committed to maintaining high service standards while representing Council with professionalism.
• You hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• You have an active Blue Card or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
Criminal History Check Required
Appointment to this position is subject to the the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
