About the Role
Environmental Operations branch is responsible for the preservation, management and enhancement of council’s diverse range of environmental and recreational assets and in partnership with our community, the rich biodiversity of the region’s landscapes. The branch plays an active role within council, liaising with other units, as well as with the community to maintain and deliver high quality environmental outcomes.
The Branch Support Officer will work as part of a highly effective and motivated branch support team to provide a point of call for all internal and external customers of the branch, supporting administrative and project functions and customer service excellence.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provision of administration support services such as: Outlook mailbox management (triaging, allocating and responding to customers), customer contact, word processing, filing, record management, photocopying and data entry
- Assist senior officers in an administrative capacity with projects including assisting with tasks for the Manager and Branch Leadership Team.
- Provide accurate and timely data entry of all activities. Prepare purchase order requests and carry out electronic receipting as and when required. Place orders with suppliers and arrange delivery of goods and services. Processing Corporate Purchase Card transactions and invoices,
- Assist with organisation of community events such as workshops, forums, and field days.
About you
As the Branch Support Officer, you will hold a Certificate II or III in Business Administration and have experience in a secretarial or administrative work environment.
You will possess demonstrated experience in the use and understanding of financial and customer service systems.
You will display positive communication and motivation – that is being a professional with a “can do” attitude and self-motivated.
As a requirement of this role, you will have effective written communication skills including a good understanding of computer applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) and a high level of word processing and data entry accuracy.
