About the Role
The Customer Response Branch plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and amenity of our community by delivering responsive, compassionate, and professional services that directly impact public health and community safety.
As an Animal Facility Support Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the Sippy Creek Animal Pound, providing care to animals and excellent customer service to the public. This entry level position would suite someone wanting to start their career in animal compliance.
Key duties:
- Provide daily care, feeding, exercise, and clean-living conditions for animals, ensuring their health, comfort, and wellbeing.
- Monitor animal health, administer medications, assist vets during treatment, and follow care instructions to support recovery and compliance.
- Manage animal intake, temperament testing, rehoming, and ensure adherence to relevant legislation and Council procedures.
- Deliver front counter service, handle enquiries, maintain records, and support weekend operations and administrative tasks as required.

*Please note: This position may be subject to termination with 90 days’ notice, as ongoing funding is contingent upon agreement with Noosa Council._
**About you
**You have a passion for compliance and enforcement and want to start your career in Local Government.
A Certificate II or III in Animal Care or equivalent experience is favourable, or you're confident handling animals of all sizes, including dogs, livestock, and poultry.
You’re eager to learn relevant legislation and procedures, and you’re committed to delivering high-quality care and service in a regulated environment.
Your strong communication and time management skills help you work independently and collaboratively, while maintaining accurate records and building positive relationships.

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
