About the Role

The Transport Network Operations branch are recruiting multiple positions for multiple locations such as Beerwah, Image Flat Quarry, and Coolum.

The Transport Network Operations branch are responsible for providing high level maintenance, construction and asset management services for all road and related infrastructure assets (pavements, bridges, drainage, pathways, and street furniture). Continuous performance improvement through leadership and employee engagement is a critical focus of the group.

As a Civil Field Worker you will carry out a hands-on role in delivering and maintaining efficient and effective day-to-day operation of civil maintenance and construction activities such as general constructions and maintenance labouring tasks associated with, but not limited to:

  • Concreting
  • Kerb and channelling
  • Stormwater drainage
  • Roads
  • Roadside assets
  • Bridges
  • Foreshores and reserves
  • Removal and disposal of debris

You will be responsible for meeting obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act.

About you

As a requirement of this role, you will possess a General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) Blue Card, and a current “C” Class driver’s license.

You will have demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member of a high performing team and have demonstrated problem solving and communication skills necessary to follow direction and work programs to complete tasks within set timeframes.

In accordance with QLD Department of Transport regulations and CEO Procedure for Management of Impaired Performance at Work any position operating commercial vehicles exceeding 4.5 tonne, buses and items of high risk machinery and plant such as (but not limited to) rollers, dozers, loaders, excavators, tractors, slashers, backhoe, Ride on Mowers, Quad bikes, chainsaw, quick cut saw, wood chipper machine require a blood/breath alcohol limit of 0.00, in addition, no operation (inc all other vehicles) if performance is impaired by drugs, medication or other reasons that affects the safe operation.  This position can be subject to regular drug and alcohol testing.

Pre-Employment Medical Required

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
