About the Role
Provide high level maintenance, construction and asset management services for all road and related infrastructure assets (pavements, bridges, drainage, pathways and street furniture). Continuous performance improvement through leadership and employee engagement is a critical focus of the group.
As the Contracts Supervisor, you will provide expert contract and procurement management advice to the team and the Manager. You will participate within a team that conducts investigations and undertakes research, identification and analysis of technical issues, defects and customer requests associated with assets related to the services delivered by the Infrastructure Services Department. Including, but not limited to:
- Supervise contracts for the provision of goods and services.
- Undertake site inspections, audits and evaluations of contractor and subcontractor compliance with plans, specifications, and contract provisions.
- Provide technical advice in relation to pre-construction, construction and maintenance.
- Investigate Customer Requests related to contract performance, determine remedial actions, assess urgency or otherwise, and prepare cost estimates for the works required and ensure follow up action as appropriate.
- Ensure that all physical aspects of contracts are met and that service levels are being maintained.
- Assist with the review technical aspects of contracts and compliance with applicable standards.
- Make relevant recommendations for action and develop and promote the adoption of improved standards, practices, products and technology.
About you
- Working with road asphalt and understanding the technical requirements of road maintenance and construction, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of TMR standards and specifications. An expert in the inspection of contractor and sub-contractor work, will ensure value and quality targets are consistently met.
- Qualifications such as a Certificate IV Civil Construction and White Card (CPCCOHS1001A - Work Safely in the Construction Industry) are a must. With additional Work Health & Safety, Traffic Controller certifications valued.
