About the Role

The Communication Branch is responsible for all external Council communications, marketing, media and graphic design. The focus for the branch is to continually build on Council’s reputation within and beyond the region, and support the organisation in implementing strategies that will ensure the organisation achieves its vision.

The Senior Graphic Designer provides timely and creative graphic design services and advice across Council ensuring cost-effective, high-quality products that are in accordance with Council’s Brand Policy and Brand Guidelines.

As a Senior Graphic Designer your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Delivering high-quality, best-practice and creative graphic design services to the organisation within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Building and managing positive relationships with the assigned portfolio clients across the organisation.
  • Developing creative assets, from concept to delivery, for digital and print mediums.
  • Adhering to brand guidelines while also developing fresh creative concepts for campaigns as required.
  • Ensuring all graphic design is inclusive and accessible.
  • Exhibiting impeccable time management skills while handling multiple projects simultaneously, complemented by excellent communication abilities.
  • Following graphic design procedures to enable a cohesive team workflow and collaboration.

This position is based in the Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state-of-the-art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.

About you

As a Senior Graphic Designer, you will have demonstrated experience working in a client liaison role and designing for a wide variety of medium, including digital design.

As a graphic design professional, you will have substantial experience with Adobe Creative Suite in a PC setting and be skilled at creating templates in Canva and Microsoft for use across the organisation.

You will have high level attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and clients at the one time, combined with strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to network, consult and work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders.

As a requirement of this role, you will have recognised undergraduate degree qualifications in graphic design, or other relevant qualification.
