About the Role
We are seeking a Management Accountant to perform group, capital and corporate management accounting functions. The successful incumbent will provide support to Groups, Branches and Units. The role encompasses provision of accounting support to the Coordinator Financial Services and Senior Management Accountant for monthly reporting, annual budget and ongoing budget reviews within tight timeframes.
You will provide ongoing advice on budget allocation, review, costing and operational & maintenance allocations as well as prepare reports for & liaise with internal clients.
The successful candidate will be accountable for maintaining knowledge of Council’s financial and subsidiary systems
Regular duties of the role will include:
- Submission of financial reports on activities as they impact on the Corporate Plan and Council’s financial reporting processes
- Ongoing ledger analysis & preparation of budget and actual journals
- Compilation & analysis of financial data for reports and/or returns
- Provision of accounting support to Group, Branch and Unit Management, the Coordinator Financial Services and Senior Management Accountants to facilitate the preparation of the annual budget and ongoing budget reviews.
- Development and maintenance of processes to track the financial status of various projects. This includes the on-going review of existing processes and forward planning of branches’ future financial requirements.
About you
You are a tertiary qualified Accountant. Coupled with your degree is your experience in a related position producing finance reports in line with accounting standards.
You are well-versed in computer applications including integrated financial systems, databases and spreadsheets.
Complementing your systems and analytical skills, you are an outstanding communicator with interpersonal skills to communicate persuasively, engage in active-listening and consult with stakeholders at all levels.
